“…I got my family back.”

That’s a quote from Rachel, a leader highlighted in Degrees of Strength – The Innovative Technique to Accelerate Greatness. And inspired leaders know how people like Rachel get their family back: They stop waiting for the conditions to be right so as to live their values…and instead, they live their values so as to create greater conditions in their life.

As 2011 comes to a close, it would be a tragedy for any family to only get their mom’s or dad’s “left overs.” (“Sorry family! This is all the energy and enthusiasm for life that I have left for you. I already gave everything I have at the office.”)

It’s doubtful you need a holiday break to get your family back. Yet, what will you do to ensure this is the best holiday ever, because your family gets the best you?

If Rachel could jump to life from the pages of the book, she would pose three questions that can transform your holiday break:

1)      What won’t you try to get done on your to-do list, so that you’re the best you ever on Jan. 3? (Seriously: Cut your list in half. And then in half again.)

2)      For those of you with kids, how will you act so when the holidays come to a close your child utters, “I want to be just like my mom… just like my dad.”

3)      What will you consistently do so your spouse is more inclined to reflect, “I remember why I married you.”

The gift we all want for the holidays is already wrapped for us. We simply have to remember how to open it.

With deep appreciation for the difference your leadership makes in the world, everyone on the Verus Global team wishes you and your loved ones all the best.
