The test is easy to recognize. And, those who pass elevate themselves to special levels of performance.

 

It’s one thing to sit at the table and say “we’re all in, we’re aligned,” or “we’ve got your back.” These are words, though. (And easy to say.) The test happens when we’re not with each other. When we’re months past our alignment meeting, or our travels spread us across the globe, will we act as partners then? Will we function as ‘one team’ when the forces of diverging opportunities or conflicting priorities bombard us? Will we stay true?

 

Before we shake hands and walk away from each other, it’s important to ask: When we’re not together, will we still act like one team? And what does that look like?
