Optimism is easy when the conditions exist to be hopeful about the future. This, however, is the followers’ brand of optimism.
To lead with optimism means to be so despite the evidence that we shouldn’t be encouraged about tomorrow.
Cynics shout at us: Look at our dire straits! Yet, optimism, doesn’t disregard the truth. It’s the only sustainable way to move a truth forward.
On the surface, it can appear there are no reasons to be optimistic. Our choice is to wait for change before we believe, or to create conditions that provide evidence to others so they, too, can believe and act.
