purpose The #1 reason people are exhausted isn’t because of the mountain of work that can’t get done; fatigue plagues us when the jobs we do take us too far from being the people we want to be.

Days with no passion or purpose become a drought. Enduring tasks that have little reason leave us drawing energy from a shallow well.

Our work must matter. However, caution is needed when we apply this wisdom. A trap has been set for us. It goes like this: “I must do different work to be fulfilled.” This thinking is a fool’s loop most of us recognize, yet too many walk into. Over and over we must learn that how we live our days is more important than what occupies the days.

When we are purposeful and infuse our values into daily moments, we transform the mundane into the extraordinary. Those who know this don’t mind falling into their beds at the end of the day bone-tired, because they know they are not diminished; they have not exhausted their authenticity.

How will you bring greater purpose to your work today? As you live your answer, be aware that you’ll be inspiring many to follow.
