In our quest to create an engaged workforce, we give real-time feedback that sometimes feels like manipulation. Sharing the appropriate messages at the right time allows you to deliver essential messages while building engagement.
Feedback is always a good thing but we have to be careful how it is perceived. Good comments.
Mark, Thanks for your comment which reminds me that we can build people up or begin to tear them down in every interaction. When our intention is to build and develop people and our partnership, our comments take on a different tone.
Feedback is a gift. Everyone likes gifts right as we all like to give a present ?
Good point, Ewout. And so it begs the Forward Focus Question whenever I’m about to give feedback: How do I provide this info/perspective in a way that is truly received as a gift?
