I love the concept of letting your idea ‘go’ so it can become greater… The collective input of the organization can nuture and grow that idea better… I also like the concept of asking better questions; when you find yourself skeptical of someone’s enthusiasm this is a fabulous reminder of how you can put focus the team in the right areas.
Gary – thanks for reiterating how important it is to check our reaction to another person’s enthusiasm. In an organization’s search for “more time” there is tremendous opportunity here for many: staying focused on the substance or issue – rather than the person, provides greater leadership forward.
