Businessman Clasping His Face in Horror

He’s afraid to ask about your family. And scared to ask what you care about. You frighten him because you’re inspired, you’re real. If he gets to know you as a person, he won’t be able to make the tough decisions.

It’s safer for him to make assumptions about you. It’s easier (at least he thinks it is) to hide behind number-filled spread sheets, and utter the expired philosophy, “It’s not personal, it’s business.”

We must not swallow his fears and make them our own. It’s essential we translate his reservations accordingly, otherwise we risk becoming afraid of ourselves.

Becoming less inspired is not the solution. Diminishing who you are is a tragic choice. Apathy does not figure into any formula for moving forward.

Downgrade nothing. Hold your vision. Deliver from your values. Be your purpose. Retain this responsibility.

How will you lead today in the presence of those who are afraid?
