The illusion is that simplicity means less: Fewer people needed to make decisions, minimizing the need for resources, less steps to take when completing a project and a differentiated solution the customer easily understands.

A simplicity ethic, however, like its sister the work ethic, is not about doing less. It means doing the hard work of more:

More candid conversations.

More empathy.

More discipline.

More empowerment.

More accountability.

More inclusion.

More courage.

More inspiration.

The benefit of simplicity is there are less headaches. Achieving this ideal, however, will require more of you.

(You have what you need within you.)

Hat tip: Thank you for the inspiration, SGodin
