There are strong points made throughout this brilliant presentation, moreover, “courage, what can our team do…, choose more effective language, i.e., what’s your perspective, and help me (to help you).” Both collectively and in part these may aid to reshape culture, profoundly. Their common denominator is truth. A kind of transformative truth which may heal the otherwise infirm culture, essentially redirecting its former failing trajectory. However, under such circumstance a leader must be willing to [hear] the truth without retribution and retaliation, and take their proverbial spoonful of medicine for true healing. And, with similar courage she or he must tell the truth as well, even if it means standing alone, even if it means to the point of absolute sacrifice. No one ever wants to hear the words “your baby is ugly.” Nevertheless, a leaders willingness to hear these words (for what they truly represent) and if need be accept such truth may very well be the difference between maintaining status quo-typical and mediocre v.s. enabling atypical extraordinary-success. These are the things, I believe, a team (and their leaders) must do that will better influence the ultimate decision made by someone else tomorrow?
