An employee who:

  • knows what is expected of them as they do their job,
  • gets to do what they do best every day,
  • or has a best friend at work…

…but whose efforts are not aligned with their teammates, provides limited value to their organization.

An employee who believes:

  • they have the equipment they need to do their job right,
  • that their opinion matters,
  • or has a boss who cares about them…

…but whose efforts are not synchronized with other colleagues, is a marginally valuable employee.

No employee is an island. Yet, many companies measure employee engagement anyway, acting as if engaged employees who are not in concert with one another will somehow take the organization where it needs to go.

Organizations that over-index or establish engagement as the goal (rather than one cause-variable to develop), perpetuate a “me” rather than a “we” culture.

There’s no question that engaged employees individually create more value than disengaged employees. Yet, what value is a group of engaged employees whose efforts fall into conflict with one another the moment they step out of a team meeting?

This is why we created the Alignment Calculator.  The strength of your team’s alignment correlates to the speed with which the team will succeed. Therefore, this simple, 9-question diagnostic is supporting leaders like you in predicting the velocity of value flowing from and through your team.

Rather than a hefty, annual survey that provides data after the fact, leaders use the Alignment Calculator in the flow of work. This way, with valid and reliable data, you can ignite the insights needed to adjust the full focus of your team on work that matters most.

If your leadership is dedicated to connecting engaged inspired employees and you want to explore further, we’re listening.

An engaged employee is more valuable when their work is in alignment with colleagues.

P.S. And deeply aligned employees are more engaged.
